Igor Vasiliev has updated its Space Ambient Machine app SpaceFields to version 1.3 turning it into a macOS app with AUv3 plugin support.
With the release of the Apple M1, you can run iOS apps on macOS. The only sticking point: this amazing extra must be activated by the developer. Currently, not so many developers want to take this step, which is a shame. Where there is shadow, there is also light.
Igor Vasiliev, developer of amazing experimental sound design-oriented iOS apps has today released SpaceFields 1.3. This update not only fixes bugs but also turns the app into a macOS app with AUv3 support.
SpaceFields macOS
SpaceFields is a loop-based space ambient machine effect processor made for crafting epic, evolving textures. The core consists of a loop recorder with two loops where one loop is on recording and the second is on playback mode. When the loop recording stops, there is a smooth transition between them.
Three separate outputs can playback the recorded loop with different pitches (speeds), each with its own effects and two automation generators. The mix of these outputs is fed to the convolution reverb infusing a blurry and ambient texture to your sounds. The engine also has a rich modulation engine like LFOs, euclidean rhythm generators, or random generators. With these, the sounds can be set in motion.
The new update 1.3 makes Igor Vasiliev’s SpaceFields a universal iOS and macOS application. It can work on iPhone and iPad as well as Mac / MacBook with an M1 chip (and later). On macOS, SpaceFields works as a standalone application and as an AUv3 with DAWs and audio unit hosts like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Mainstage, Plogue Bidule, etc.
The macOS version features all application features, including MIDI support, audio unit parameters, and importing samples from any directory of devices.
SpaceField 1.3 Update
Besides the new macOS AUv3 plugin compatibility, the new update brings new presets, a threshold exceeding indicator, and a slight optimization of the audio engine. There is also a new shift + touch and drag option to change the second value of the knobs in the macOS version. Plus, a new shift + touch and drag option on iOS with an external keyboard. It also includes many bug fixes.
SpaceFields by Igor Vasiliev is available now for $10,99 USD on the Apple AppStore and macOS Store. The update is free of charge for existing customers.
