Ferry Island Modular Four Seas is a new 4-dimensional wavetable oscillator for Eurorack with through-zero phase modulation and more.

Superbooth 25 is already several months behind us. Many are already looking forward to the next edition in May 2026. With over 300 developers, it has become impossible to cover all manufacturers in three days, and so many new releases are falling out of focus.

This is the case with this news. Ferry Island Modular, a new brand, showcased at SB25 Four Seas, a new 4-dimensional wavetable oscillator for Eurorack. I’m hearing about this new module news for the first time today, so let’s catch up on the coverage now.

Four Seas is a new 26HP wavetable oscillator for Eurorack. Yeah, wavetable again, and now in a module. Wait, it’s more exciting than just a classic wavetable oscillator.

Ferry Island Modular has developed a unique 4-dimensional wavetable engine for the Four Seas, allowing you to navigate through sonic space. For this, you can explore the wavetables as a three-dimensional cube using the X, Y, and Z controls.

There are X, Y, and Z controls for the wavetable position and spread for each oscillator. Yes, there is one dimension missing. The fourth dimension emerges through four related outputs with intelligent spread algorithms and dedicated control. It creates rich, evolving textures.

You can also load your own wavetables (WaveEdit compatible) using the module’s built-in microSD card slot on the front panel. According to Ferry Island Modular, the module will also soon support Serum tables.

Deep Modulation

In addition to the 4-dimensional control, extensive built-in audio rate modulation makes the module a wavetable powerhouse and many sounds possible. It features thru-zero phase modulation, phase distortion waveshaping, and bitwise XOR for more complex sounds.

Then, it has dual sync inputs with selectable modes and CV control over the wavetable banks with which you can do crazy things. As a bonus, each oscillator pair can switch to LFO rates for modulation duties.

Ferry Island Modular Four Seas also has I2C compatible that enables integration with Teletype, Crow, ER-301, and other modules. There is one more thing. It’s also compatible to the Xaoc Devices Leibniz system and an expander is coming soon

Not sure if this is still current, but according to the developers, the module’s firmware will be open-source. They invite people to hack it.

First Impression

Wavetable oscillators often have the same concept borrowed from synth plugins like Serum. I find it interesting that the Ferry Island Modular developer come up with a different concept around wavetables.

There aren’t many demos yet, but this could be an exciting module. I’m curious to see and hear more of it.

Ferry Island Modular Four Seas will be available soon (estimation this Summer or later) for 599€.
