The Ujam Vox Humana plugin, created in collaboration with the Bob Moog Foundation, brings the iconic Polymoog voice mode to your DAW.

The Bob Moog Foundation is a non-profit organization led by Bob Moog’s daughter, Michelle Moog-Koussa. Its mission is to pass Bob Moog’s legacy to future generations through immersive exhibitions, workshops, and more.

To convey this to the public, the Moogseum was opened at 56 Broadway Street in Asheville (US) in 2019. Sadly, this was damaged in the recent floods. The operation could not be fully resumed, and the Moogseum needs help to be restored. But a new way to help is now available.

Ujam Vox Humana

Ujam has partnered with the Bob Moog Foundation to create the Vox Humana plugin, which allows you to support the foundation directly.

Ujam Vox Humana

Vox Humana is an authentic emulation/recreation of the legendary Polymoog’s Vox Humana mode, regarded as one of the most recognizable Synthesizer sounds. You can hear it, for example, in Gary Numan’s “Cars”.

At its core, Ujam uses its own proprietary Gorilla Engine for the Vox Humana plugin. Interestingly, it doesn’t use analog modeling technology but uses sampled content from the vintage Polymoog 280A to preserve the signature Vox Humana sound.

This is embedded in a virtual instrument with a very Polymoog-like interface. The plugin features four timbral modes: original, bright, hollow, and octaves, which can be switched with four numbered buttons.

Then, you have an AD envelope generator with attack and decay sliders for dynamic shaping. Next to this is a multi-FX processor with chorus, phaser, and delay, adding depth and movement to the Vox Humana sound. Each effect is fully customizable with slider parameters.

Ujam ships the new Vox Humana plugin with 10 ready-to-use factory presets. Alternatively, you can save custom user presets in the plugin.

At UJAM, we owe much of our inspiration to industry pioneers like Bob Moog,” said UJAM co-founder Peter Gorges. “His contributions to music technology have shaped my career and so many others.

Supporting the Bob Moog Foundation through the Vox Humana plugin is an honor, and by waiving all fees, we’re ensuring that every dollar goes directly to advancing its mission and preserving Bob’s legacy for future generations.”

100% Support

Fabulously, all proceeds from the plugin will directly support the Bob Moog Foundation’s mission to inspire through science education, preservation, and interactive learning. Here is a showcase of the direct impact of these contributions. Ujam will have a live counter where you can see teh tracking of the funds.
  • $5,000 – 50 teachers trained for Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool
  • $10,000 – 10 weeks of Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool provided to 500 students
  • $20,000+ – Expanded outreach, archival preservation, and Moogseum restoration

First Impression

The Vox Humana plugin collab is a lovely project between Ujam and the Bob Moog Foundation. This way, you can simultaneously get the iconic Polymoog sound in your DAW and help a good cause.

Ujam Vox Humana is available now for $19/22€ and runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
