Tesseract Modular has released two new modules: Vinia, a powerful multi-generator/FX, and Stonk, a creative joystick with looper functionality.

Eurorack modules come from all over the world. Many come from Spain, especially from the Barcelona area, but not all of them.

For example, Tesseract Modular comes from Seville and shows two new exciting feature-packed modules I don’t want to keep from you: Vinia & Stonk.

Tesseract Modular Vinia

Vinia is a new powerful 8-channel audio generator and processor for Eurorack. Each channel is independent and has its own signal chain. This can be a multi-engine instrument, an FX processor, a combination of both, or a chain of several FX.

The sound generator section offers a sample player with 16 MB internal of memory, various VCOs (VCO, multi-VCO, harmonic VCO, Karplus, chords), a noise generator, a drum synth or modulation generators (LFO, envelope follower, envelope).

Each of these generators has a rich set of parameters for setting up your sounds. Then, there is a powerful multi-FX processor.

Tesseract Modular has added 20 different algorithms in Vinia: FM operator, filters (multimode, ladder, rubber, bandpass), a wave folder, tube saturation, delays (filter delay, delay, long delay), reverb, metallizer, grain pitch shift, and more.

These can be flexibly set in a chain per channel and offer many customization possibilities. The module also hosts a mixer, a little sequencer, and a monitor section. You can also save your channels in presets and work with macro parameters.

On the I/O side, you can find audio inputs (6x), audio outputs (8x), CV ins (8x), and eight trigger inputs. Additionally, there is a microSD card slot,  a 3.5mm MIDI input, two buttons, and two knobs.

Tesseract Modular Stonk

The second new Tesseract Modular module is Stonk, a joystick controller with unexpected features. When you hear joystick, you see it as a modulation signal that you can work with expressively. TesseractModular, however, has supercharged it with other things.

Stonk offers two channels: CV and audio. Yes, it’s not just a CV generator; it’s also a flexible audio processor. The CV generator side includes an LFO, Euclidean envelope generator, and VCA, while the processing side gives you a multimode filter, stereo reverb, and wave folder.

What is exciting here is that you can control these functions, whether modulation or FX processor, with the joystick. Plus, you can loop up to 150 seconds per channel your joystick movements.

By default, two parameters are assigned to the horizontal & vertical axes, but this can be easily tweaked, so it’s possible to control any of them (frequency, symmetry, offset, or amplitude of the LFO, for example) not only with the joystick but with the 2 CV inputs.

Further, you can store/recall up to six presets that bundle the joystick assignments/settings and parameter values for all modes and channels.

On the I/O side, Tesseract Modular Stonk offers two audio ins & outs (AC coupled), 2 CV ins/outs (DC coupled) and two extra CV coutputs with ±10V.

First Impression

Two exciting modules with a dense feature set. The joystick looks tempting as it offers functionality never seen before in a joystick module.

Tesseract Modular Vinia is available now for 400€ and Stonk for 250€. The prices exclude VAT and shipping.
