AAS Split Personality is a new sound pack for the Chromaphone 3 physical modeling synth and Player that explores the synth’s bi-timbral engine.
The Chromaphone is a sound design treasure when it comes to realistic, fully customizable percussive sounds. With Chromaphone 3, the Canadian developers from AAS added another layer to its physical modeling Synthesizer, making it a bi-timbral virtual instrument.
Today AAS released Split Personality, a new sound library that explores the capabilities of the bi-timbrality of the Chromaphone 3engine in greater depth.
AAS Split Personality
Split Personality is a new sound library made in collaboration with Polish sound designer Adam Pietruszko. They have released numerous other sound libraries in the recent past, including Synth City, Kicks and Snares, and more.
The library ships with 100 new presets for Chromaphone 3 and the free AAS Player. It features an extensive “array of drum, percussion, and dynamic arpeggiated rhythms splits, empowering you to swiftly establish the foundation for your new song.
As the name of the library implies, it’s about split or layered sounds. This is possible thanks to the bi-timbrality of Chromaphone 3
Split Personality presents a meticulously curated array of split presets, harmoniously balanced and exceptionally playable. More precisely, your keyboard is split in half, both sides having two different sonic characteristics carefully balanced for an artistic vibe.
According to AAS and the sound designer, they also added versatile macro controls, granting you the freedom to shape your sound on the fly during performances.
First Impression
New sound content for Chromaphone is always nice. A synthesizer that is still very underestimated in terms of what it can do.
AAS Split Personality is available now for an introductory price of $19 instead of $39 until March 4, 2024. It works with both Chromaphone 3 and the included AAS Player plugin.
To celebrate this release, Applied Acoustics Systems also launched a special sale on Chromaphone. This includes a 50% sale on all Chromaphone 3 products, including the plugin and bundles.
