Sinevibes Blend v2 is a free update of its multi-voice chorus plugin for Korg Logue hardware synthesizers with an upgraded sound engine.

The Korg multi-engine (Logue SDK) is a fantastic, innovative platform. The built-in digital engine in the respective Korg synths allows users to customize their hardware synthesizer using plugins written specifically for this. These can be completely new oscillators that add new synthesis types but also effects like distortions, delays, reverbs, and more.

I hope Korg will bring a new version of the prologue onto the market in the near future. So there is, again, a flagship synth with which you can try out the beautiful free and commercial (Korg) plug-ins in more depth. One is the Blend chorus by Sinevibes. This got a big free update today.

Blend v2 is a further development of the Blend multi-voice chorus (Korg) plugin. Like v1, it runs exclusively on Korg Logue synths, including the prologue, minilogue xd, and NTS-1 in the dedicated, multi-engine-powered FX section.

The big difference is the configuration of the chorus. Where v1 was only mono with three mono layers, Blend v2 offers four layers in stereo. Raising the whole thing to stereo makes the sound much nicer and lusher.

It now consists of four fully independent layers (two per channel) modulated by four parabolically shaped oscillators with proportional phase offsets.

Additionally, there are separate feedback loops in each stereo pair layer and partial signal crosstalk that emphasizes the multi-layer detune. Sinevibes added 20% more feedback in each pair of stereo layers and 25% in the signal crosstalk l/r channels.

Then, the modulation frequency and the depth parameter have a wide range. Plus, the depth parameter mapping changed from linear to quadratic.

According to Sinevibes, Blend v2 also has a more balanced output signal to other modulation effects. So, less muddy results when you combine it with other sounds.

Blend v2 is capable of creating deep unison and ensemble-style effects with great density, natural smoothness, and lush stereo field, promises the developers.

And it’s not just another classic bread-and-butter “chorus” effect. The flexible is very flexible, allowing you to create more subtly detuned sounds but also unique, highly dissonant sounds.

First Impression

An excellent free update. I like the chorus better now. Sounds denser and lusher with the new stereo configuration.

Sinevibes Blend v2 is available now for $19. If you are a Sinevibes customer, check your mails, and you get a loyalty discount. It’s a free update for existing Blend v1 users. It runs as an FX plugin on Korg Logue synths (prologue, minilogue, xd, and NTS-1) and is incompatible with the drumlogue.
