Amazing Noises introduced Grain Scanner, a new M4L 10-voice polyphonic granular Synthesizer & re-synthesizer designed for experimental sound design

Ableton Live is one of the most successful DAWs currently. The Suite version ships with Max for Live, a modular audio environment. For those who do not want to dive deep into this, there are many exciting free and paid add-ons for this. These work as classic devices in Live and consume less CPU than third-party plugins.

Amazing Noises is known for very special sound design tools today released a new extension for M4L. Grain Scanner is a new 10-voice polyphonic granular Synthesizer & re-synthesizer that allows the deep manipulation of samples. It chops samples into small slices, then re-arranges and plays them back in a multitude of ways.

This new Max device offers an advanced sound engine that can turn any sample into a black slate for otherworldly synth part. Grain Scanner’s granular engine can play up to 1000 microscopic slices of a sample simultaneously.

The results are sounds that live between the organic and the synthetic like experimental noises, glitchy effects, alien textures or massive clouds of ambiance.

A dedicated modulation page features four LFOs. Modulate each of the 10 voices individually or modulate the global parameters with up to four modulation sources at once. And its step sequencer and separate effects panel let you mold your sound even further.

The Max device comes with more than 100 presets to play with, and a database of dozens of sound sources ready to be bent, twisted and transformed.  You can also import your own samples to create a completely personal sound. What’s more, Grain Scanner was made with Push and other keyboard controllers in mind, so you can easily start making melodies and harmonies with sounds you designed yourself.

Amazing Noises Grain Scanner is available now for 49€ for Ableton Live Max For Live. It requires Live 10 Standard (version 10.1 or higher) and Max for Live (version 8.1 or higher).
