Next month, the absolute Synthesizer convention and trade show will be in Berlin and the organisers announced quick already that the SuperBooth area is sold out. Many developer asked for a booth but they don’t have space for every company. Due of this fact, it’s interesting today to read that Behringer announced that they will join the SuperBooth this year for revealing a new Synthesizer there. I was in touch with Uli Behringer about the SuperBooth plans and it seems like they absolutely want to join the SuperBooth but don’t get a space for their stuff. It will be interesting if they will receive a last minute place or not.

Nonetheless, Uli Behringer also announced that a new Synth will be released during the SuperBooth 2017. If this new device will be revealed on the show floor or only on internet, we don’t know it yet. This depends if the company will receive a booth at the SuperBooth 2017. If not, it will be a internet presentation and the company will be for sure attending the 2018 edition. Gearslutz Forum

On top of this news, he announced that they received their first PCB prototypes of the Model D Synthesizer, an authentic and affordable clone of the Minimoog D.

Gearslutz Forum: D Prototype

We have just received the first PCB (Print Circuit Board) and if all goes well, we should have a working prototype ready by next week. As you can see it is quite a dense layout as squeezing a complete Model D design into a Eurorack format is not an easy task.

Please keep in mind that we are still many months away from a shipment date. A typical design cycle requires around 1-2 board spins, all depending on the audio performance as well as the subsequent compliance testing which includes EMC and safety.

Since people have shown interest, we will happily share with you the design milestones of this Synthesizer, so you get a better understanding how an electronic product is engineered.

It will be interesting to see what Behringer will release during the SuperBooth 2017. For me personal, I think we will see a DeepMind12 desktop version or the upcoming analog drum machines. We don’t know it but we will see.
