Sound designer and YouTuber Sounds For Synths, aka Jexus, has released a new patch library with 300 sounds for the Roland GAIA 2.
The world needs new sounds and synthesizers too. A good address for quality sounds for hardware synths is the site Sounds For Synths. If you follow the sound designer on YouTube, you’ll know him as Jexus.
In his latest project, he explored the Roland GAIA-2 digital Synthesizer and created a patch bank for it.
Roland GAIA 2 Jexus
When Jexus examines a new Synthesizer, he usually creates a new patch library. This time, he created one for the pretty new Roland GAIA 2 Synthesizer.
The library features 300 new original sounds with variations, giving you a total of 333 patches, designed with the internal GAIA 2 engine.
As usual for Jexus patch libraries, the sounds do not follow a style. You determine the style it fits in.
There is no one style, because YOU decide what style these patches will be played in. It’s a wide variety of sounds that are meant to inspire, make you look at the synth in a different light and give you a great choice of directions. Some patches are bread & butter, some offbeat; they’re the result of me trying to find the limits of the instrument.
The sounds are ready-to-use in music or can serve as starting points; just pick the textures or dynamics that you like and easily fine-tune them to suit your exact taste or purpose.
Jexus has released three videos that give you a complete overview of the included sounds. Even though I was never super impressed by the GAIA 2 sound, he has again managed to create very exciting sounds with the engine.
The new Roland GAIA 2 patches by Jexus are available now for $29,99, 28,90€, or £25.90.
