The Oberheim TEO-5 is a new polyphonic analog synthesizer, announced at Superbooth 24; here is a summary of the sound demos.
At Superbooth 24, Oberheim unveiled the TEO-5, a new 5-voice polyphonic analog Synthesizer. This announcement was unsurprising, as the Tom Elroy Oberheim-5 had already been leaked weeks in advance.
The release will take until late summer, but it’s a good time to collect the sound demos before it hits the shops.
Oberheim TEO-5 Sound Demos
During the release back in May, many YouTubers released their day-one reviews. At the same time, many videos from Superbooth 24 appeared. Presentations and reviews are all good, but the most important thing is content that shows what the unit is capable of and what is possible with the engine.
I have collected the most important Oberheim TEO-5 sound demos to make your search easier. I want to start with one from Jeremy from Red Means Recording, who has published a sound design tutorial that shows what sounds are possible with the TEO-5.
Feature Highlights
Oberheim TEO-5 is available now for pre-order for $1499,99/1699€. Shipping will start in late Summer 2024.

The sounds in this demo reminds me strongly about my Argon8 (which is a virtual synth…).
Those of us who purchase analog synthesizers should receive a certificate of authenticity that the synthesizer is 100% pure analog. Nowadays we can easily be fooled because there are digital oscillators that imitate VCO’s. Maybe this TEO-5 is not as analog as it seems to be, that’s why it sounds like a Argon8…
didn’t know that there are Synthesizer conspiracy theories 😉
The VCAs are digital, so before talking of conspiracy theories and insulting people, make a little google search.
it’s not insulting with the 😉 take it with a bit of humour Mike.
I didn’t heart yet that the TEO-5 sound “digital because of the VCAs. VCAs just as much a function as LFOs and envelopes that can be implemented digitally today. The main thing is VCA’s and DCA’s do the same and not pass audio as an raising/lowering signal function. Yes, they can shape the sound but it always depends which components are used and how they are implemented. Some have more and other less influenced on the sound.
I will not call it hybrid as TEO-5 has analog oscillators and filters. Analog, hybrid or digital is always related to the sound generation part in my writings.
since it’s digital the voices are mixed in stereo with stereo voice spread and it also helps to keep the noise down.
You mean ‘coincidence theories’… 😀
