Hornet TrackUtility MK2, a Swiss army knife-style audio toolbox plugin (mac/win) is a free download only today.
In September and October, the Italian developer Hornet gave away two plugins to the music production community: DeeLay and Graffio. With one catch: these plugins were only free for one day.
Hornet also celebrates the month of November with a free plugin for one day.
Hornet TrackUtility MK2
TrackUtility MK2 is not a creative plugin, more of a Swiss army toolbox with many different useful functions for your DAW. According to Hornet, it features different useeful processors that you would otherwise need to find loading many plugins.
Hornet’s plugin features all that in a handy plugin with a clever GUI. For example, it can change a track from stereo to mono, remove DC, pan, trim, etc. Thanks to the limiter in the output section and its stereo wideness control, you can also create a fake stereo simulator.
With the built.in auto gain RMS mode, the plugin is also very useful on the master bus for quick mastering.
TrackUtility MK2 also offers a very handy grouping function to allow for the change of any parameter to a whole bunch of instances at once. Hornet says it offers the latest audio gain algorithm and borrows the limiter code from Magnus. It includes three different autio releases times.
