iceWorks has turned its unique iOS AUv3 multi-tap filtering delay app into a plugin for macOS Apple Silicon systems.
With the Lagrange, iceWorks has ported the last Synthesizer from its app portfolio to macOS. All ports are available as a free update for iOS users. Anyone who follows the developments of Satoshi Taneda, aka iceWorks/iceGear Instruments, knows that something is still missing.
Yes, the creative AUv3 effects. It starts with the multi-tap delay Yukawa, the developer’s first effects app is now available on macOS.
iceWorks Yukawa
Yukawa is a 1-to-1 port of the iOS version. So you get the same versatile AUv3 tempo-sync-able multi-tap delay you know from iOS. It hosts a customizable multi-tap delay, independent stereo delay, a DJ mixer-style filter, and flexible routing options.
The multi-tap delay has 16 programmable delay taps, each with independently adjustable volume, pan, timing, and filter with cutoff and resonance settings. This also allows you to add filter modulations to the multi-tap delay sound.
There is also a stereo delay with a classic or ping-pong configuration, and is fully synchronizable.
Further, you can apply modulation to it for chorus-like sounds or use negative feedback for dirty timbres.
Yukawa also features a DJ mixer style filter with morphable lowpass to highpass with a single knob. Great to create seamless filter sweeps in the effects. Additionally, the cutoff is modulatable for more movement in your effect. Plus, you can overdrive it to create distorted filter sounds.
I recently released a demo of the new MicroFreak 5.0 firmware. In the sound demos, I also used Yukawa as an iPad effect.
Big thanks to Satoshi for this free update.
iceWorks Yukawa is available now for $7,99 on the Apple AppStore. The new update 1.2, with macOS support, is a free update for iOS users. It runs as a standalone and AUv3 plugin on iPhones, iPads, and macOS (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Reaper…) (Apple Silicon systems).
Important note: Unfortunately, the Mac App Store is known to have a display bug regarding apps already purchased on an iOS device. In this case, you should still be able to continue the purchase process and download the app for free.
