At SynthFest France 2023, FCPro Audio premiered a new fully modular version of its customizable Synthesizer-focused Mixthesizer.
Last year, the new company Italian FCPro Audio showed a new Synthesizer-focused mixer that is completely feature customizable with an online configurator. An exciting approach to allow musicians to design their mixer according to their wishes. With more inputs, more or less mono or stereo inputs. AUX inputs yes or no, etc.
Now for SynthFest France 2023/Superbooth 23, Claudio from FCPro Audio went one step further by turning its Mixthesizer in a full modular mixer.
FCPro Audio Mixthesizer Modular
In addition to the classic configurable Mixthesizer, there will also be a possibility to put together a mixer in a modular way. Claudio says this will be as simple as putting a Eurorack modular Synthesizer together.
It starts with the case. There will be three sizes (small, medium, and large) for creating compact but also bigger modular mixers. In the photo, you can see the middle size.
Each has a built-in power supply with a bus board PCB in it. Similar to what you know from the Eurorack area.
With the help of various modules, you can then simply put together your mixer. You can start small with four channels and go all in and create a 64-channel mixer. There will be various Moog-style modules that can be installed in the case. Including:
- 4-mono or stereo channel module (up to 64 channels)
- AUX sends (up to 8)
- master AUX send/return
- main output and sub-output with dedicated VU meters
- connectivity modules consisting of audio sockets for bringing signals in and out.
First Impression
The modular Mixthesizer will also be displayed at Superbooth 23 in two weeks. I hope more details will be known by then. I liked what I saw at SynthFest France 2023. To be honest even more than the possibility to make the mixer in the configurator. Here you have complete freedom to build your dream mixer and also to start small and upgrade bit by bit. Very nice product.
The Mixthology modular prices are TBA but the middle case with PSU will be about 700€ and the modules start at 100€ each. They will be available in Summer 2023 (June).
