Sugar Bytes Aparillo Is A Unique Textural FM Synthesizer Plugin For Advanced Sound Textures & Morphs

To be honest, I’ve stopped counting how many different Synthesizer plugins there are on the market. Virtual analog synthesis is most likely to be found in most synths. Even if they sound excellent, the concepts are not longer innovative and a bit boring. For this reason, I’m glad that there are companies such as Inear Display or Sugar Bytes that come again and again with new interesting concepts. The latter has released a new kind of FM Synthesizer today that was already teased some months ago.

Aparillo is an advanced 16-voice Synthesizer that is not a classic FM Synthesizer (DX7 style) but an instrument that use this technology to create new sonic motions. The engine is based on four different blocks: synth, orbiter, fx and modulation.

Advanced FM Engine

The synth engine is based on two FM operators that allows to create very complex waveforms using different FM complexities/ratio modes, wave-shaping, folding, format shifting, complex LFO’s and the Orbiter that can deliver unique sonic spectacles. On top, a modulatable scale editor creates unbelievable unison spreads with the deepest harmonic structures and can go up to 16 voices.

Orbiter – Use The Orbit To Create Unlimited Unheard Sounds

The orbiter plays a major role in the Sugar Bytes Aparillo Synthesizer. It pulls strings throughout the engine putting all the power at the users fingertips, with an deep XY pad to control a massive, record-ready engine.

With the help of mouse animation or position per note (128 different sound sounds from your keyboard), it possible to discover a lot new sounds.

FX – An Sugar Bytes Plugin Without Crazy Effects Is Not Possible

As usual for Sugar Bytes plugins is the effect section very special and is a sound source in its own right. The Spacializer, a versatile delay-based pitch resonator, can generate an additional synth layer per wave-guide synthesis. Besides the typical specialties like Comb and Vowel, the Multi-Mode filter dishes up the super-evil Dirt HP/BP/LPs, that bubble over with spectral grit. The Poly-Autopan, synced Delay, and our best Reverb yet, will add space and air to your precious audio produce.

Modulation – Not Just Standard Modulation Possibilities!

The sole focus of the modulation lies on the diversity of the 16 independent synth voices. As freely definable layers of sound, they will unfold a vast sonic biotope. The Envelopes show off user definable slopes, looping modes, and polyphonic parameter modulation. The dual Complex LFO brings along some specialties like FM, Gravitation, Oneshot, S+H/Quantize, and the beautifully chaotic Collision Mode. The ARP is interwoven with the engine to pick, pluck and extract rhythmic and melodic structures.
