The Usual Suspects Triplex R-330 is a new Roland SRV-330 Dimension Space Reverb emulator for macOS, Linux, and Windows: now in private beta
Update: it’s now available in private beta for TUS supporters.
So far, the team behind The Usual Suspects (TUS) has released synthesizer emulators. The good news: they are now expanding their portfolio with effects.
Alongside the Novation Supernova II emulators The Usual Suspects is also showcasing the Triplex R-330.
The Usual Suspects Triplex R-330
The R-330 is an upcoming Roland SRV-330/SDE-330/SDX-330 emulator for macOS, Linux, and Windows. The SRV-330 remains one of the finest reverb processors Roland has ever developed.
The SRV-330 was a digital reverb rack unit based on the famous Roland R-880 algorithms with the special tridimensional (3D) acoustic Roland RSS system. This 3D engine was highly innovative in 1993.
The sound quality was pristine for its time and comparable to the big names. This was because it used hardware that offered 16-bit and 44.1 kHz digital processing.
Then came the SDE-330, the Dimension Space Delay: a clean, transparent digital delay with precise time control and modulation capabilities. It also featured the 3D positioning engine, here for the delay repeats.
The third was the SDX-330, the Dimensional Expander, an advanced 3D spatial processor and chorus unit that included an emulation of the legendary Roland SDD-320 Dimension D Chorus.
It runs on a 16-bit CPU, the NEC up-D70433 (v55), and a custom DSP TC6088AD that runs internal algorithms.
Just like the synths, The Usual Suspects Triplex R-330 requires the official ROM of the vintage hardware. Since the Triplex R-330 is based on the original ROMs, it has the same features.
In the demo below, YouTube channel Numero Uno uses it with the upcoming Supernova II emulator.
First Impression
It’s exciting to see that TUS now also emulates effects. I’m curious how close the R-330 emulator sounds to the original hardware.
The Usual Suspects Triplex R-330 is available now as a private beta for supporters on their Discord channel. It runs as a VST2, VST3, AU, LV2 and CLAP on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel), Linux and Windows

To have all three effects one would need to install it three times, each with it’s related ROM?
Not tested but as you can have many instances, each instance can have its own ROM
It’s not what he asked – and yes, you’ll need X3 that.
I can get the SRV working but not the SDE or SDX
It is getting beyond being ridicules – update every week…?!
Every time US releases something new it “updates” all their apps at the same time without providing change log…
Just slapping on “new” version number…
the plugins are based on the Gearmulator that get often updates. You can follow them on GitHub with change logs. Btw: this isn’t ridiculous; it’s better than no updates at all.

can they Remake the se 70.
have one.. sleeper!
Prodigy Used a few in the 90s.
analog distortion and digital multi FX even a vocoder.
Just digital stuff, as they use a ROM. The analog one needs analog circuitry or analog modeling what they are currently not doing
