Native Instruments Maschine 3.7 is a free update that significantly boosts the sequencer with Euclidean sequencing, probability, and more, plus three new expansions.
Native Instruments is part of inMusic. With this change, there were fears that Maschine might be dropped from the product lineup, given that it competes directly with the Akai MPC—another inMusic beat production product.
So far, however, there are no signs of that happening, as a new update has been released. Native Instruments has released Maschine 3.7, a free update with major new features.
Native Instruments Maschine 3.7
Maschine 3.7 is a major new update for Native Instruments’ beat production software. It is free for everyone who has updated to Maschine 3.0. “Maschine is alive and evolving, and this update packs in a host of fresh features”, says NI.
The new update 3.7 brings a major sequencer boost with long-requested user features. It adds creative generative tools designed to get producers out of a blank grid and into a groove faster than ever.
The first new feature is a random note generator that lets Maschine automatically write the notes for you. Set the odds and start from an idea instead of an empty grid.
Then, it adds a Euclidean sequencer to the engine. Dial in steps, fills, and rotation to create grooves you’d never draw by hand. Live mode updates them in real time while the loop runs.
The third and last new feature is the per-note probability, aka note event (chance). Give every note a chance value. Maschine re-rolls it on each loop so the pattern keeps breathing, and any take can be locked in the moment it’s right.
Great: the update 3.7 will also come to Maschine+ very soon, so support also continues there
Three New Expansions
Alongside the new Maschine 3.7, Native Instruments has also launched three special Expansions, including Thirty, a 30th-birthday edition built entirely from the company’s own back catalog.
Paris Heat, a French house-inspired pack built for future-facing club music with 40 Maschine kits, 108 loops, 314 drum samples, and 127 one-shots; and Rage Circuit, a rage and hypertrap collection created with GRAMMY-winning producer Snipe Young.
The latter features 41 Maschine kits, 291 loops, 375 drum samples, and 37 one-shots, with huge 808s, hyper-digital leads, and glitches built for producers pushing trap past its edges
Also available is the THIRTY expansion, celebrating Native Instruments’ 30-year birthday. It’s a genre-spanning collection that reimagines a huge, iconic catalog: 30 Maschine kits, 89 loops, 291 drum samples, and 85 one-shots.
To celebrate the company’s birthday, Thirty resamples and reassembles Native Instruments’ greatest hits, pulling highlights and hidden gems from Reaktor, Spotlight Series, Play Series, Massive X, and beyond to create new sounds that look to the future. It’s a genre-spanning journey producers can take in their own direction.
First Impression
As someone who works with Maschine rather than the Akai MPC ecosystem, I’m glad to see it moving forward with new features—and that Maschine+ continues to expand as well.
Maschine 3.7 is available now as a free update for all Maschine 3 users. Support for Maschine 3.7 on Maschine+ coming soon. Paris Heat and Rage Circuit are each available for $49/49EUR, and Thirty is available for $30/30EUR, all launching September 23, 2026.
