Frostmod Audio FM4OSC is a new 4-operator, 32-algorithm FM oscillator plugin for the Korg microKORG2 Synthesizer.
With the firmware 2.0 update for the microKORG 2, Korg opened its synthesis engine. Thanks to the “logue” platform, other developers can now create new oscillator and FX engines.
This big upgrade has made the synth significantly more interesting and makes many differently flavored oscillators possible, like this new one. Frostmod has released FM4OSC, a new FM oscillator for it.
Frostmod Audio FM4OSC
FM4OSC is a new oscillator plugin for the Korg microKORG2. It brings classic 4-operator FM synthesis, known from Yamaha synths, to the microKORG2.
It features 32 algorithms that you can easily select from the Logue user interface. Each operator offers controls for feedback, frequency rate, and amount.
They also give you per-operator feedback control and let you use operator modulation amount and feedback as oscillator mod destinations.
First Impression
A nice, interesting FM oscillator that brings 4-operator FM synthesis to the microKORG2 and enables new sounds for the compact synth.
Frostmod Audio FM4OSC is available now for a minimum price of 3€. It runs exclusively on the Korg microKORG2 Synthesizer.
