Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX Mic is a new portable microphone with built-in real-time FX and a sample playback engine.
When Teenage Engineering released the EP-40 Riddim Supertone in November 2025, they also launched the EP-2350 Ting microphone at the same time, initially sold as part of a bundle. Later, it was also available separately.
This microphone can play sounds and process mic sounds in real time. A fun product. Today, Teenage Engineering re-released the EP-2350 FX Mic as a regular version with a different look.
Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX Mic
The EP-2350 FX Mic is the successor to the discontinued EP-2350 Thing, released alongside the EP-40 Riddim Supertone back in November 2025.
According to Teenage Engineering, the new EP-2350 FX Mix offers the same functionality but comes with a new look. They changed the color scheme to better match the aesthetics of the regular K.O II and the EP-136 K.O. Sidekick.
It now has a white front with a grey mic frame. Orange is used for a single knob and the mic trigger, providing a good contrast. The 3.5mm audio cable remains permanently installed.
As I already said, functionality remains unchanged. The EP-2350 FX Mic is primarily a Lo-fi microphone you can connect to all samplers in the EP series: EP-133 K.O. II, EP-1320 Medieval…
The standard line output also lets you use it with other gear like samplers, mixers, audio interfaces, field recorders, or PA systems. Press the orange talk button, and you are off to go.
Mangle Your Voice & Playback Sounds
A highlight of the previous and new Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX Mic is its built-in effects for mangling your voice in real time. There are four available: echo, echo + spring, pixie, and robot.
You can influence the sound by shaking the microphone or by using the hardware effect parameters. With the orange trigger button, you can control the sound intensity. You can also adjust effect presets via a JSON file.
Additionally, you can load up to four samples that can be triggered from the microphone. According to TE, the engine has been updated. You can load your own WAV files into the FX Mic via USB.
Still not possible is recording samples directly with the microphone. The EP-2350 FX Mic is powered by two AAA batteries or USB-C.
First Impression
Is it a toy for your next ’80s or ’90s party, or perhaps a sound design tool? I think it’s both, and it’s definitely fun. It’s great that it now comes in a matching design of the current standard K.O. II product lineup and with improved hardware.

How is the design improved? This sounds exactly like the old Ting.
Same design, just a new color scheme. TE says that they have improved the sample playback engine.
I wonder if they improved on the trigger noise…
The idea is cool. Now built it into the CM-15 MK2 with a few more extra features and TE might actually get some of my money.
