Imaginando TV3 is a TB-303-style acid Synthesizer plugin with a built-in generative pattern sequencer (desktop/iOS): update 1.1.0 out now
At the start of the 2024 Christmas season, Imaginando released the TV3, a TB-303 emulation that was initially available as a free download. It now costs 39€ and is also available on iOS.
Today, the Portuguese development company released the free update 1.1.0 for the TV3 Synthesizer with two major changes.

Update 1.1.0 is a free update for existing customers and introduces two major new features. Firstly, the TV3 user interface has been completely redesigned. In my opinion, it looks nicer and less gloomy.
It also introduces a new editor view in the built-in generative sequencer, which makes it easier to edit your patterns A small but excellent update for TV3 Synthesizer.

iOS friends, pay attention. The Imaginando TV3 bassline Synthesizer plugin, free before Christmas 2024, is also available for iOS.
It’s available now on the Apple AppStore for $5,99 and runs as an app and AUv3 plugin on iPhones and iPads.

Imaginando TV3
TV3 is a straightforward-designed acid Synthesizer plugin inspired by the legendary Roland TB-303. It features two oscillators (main and sub) with two selectable waveforms (square and sawtooth).
The signal then passes through a 24dB/oct lowpass resonant, non-self-oscillating filter with classic cutoff and resonance controls.
It also includes a distortion unit with four distinct modes (saturation, saturated wave folding, fuzz, and nock) and a built-in highpass filter. On the modulation side, it has a classic decay envelope with accent control for both the amp and filter.
A highlight of the Imaginando TV3 is its generative pattern generator. With one click, you can generate your own basslines. You can also adjust the algorithm and set the complexity, length, scale (21 onboard), and key for the sequence.
Nice. You can also export the patterns via MIDI to your DAW using the intuitive drag/drop functionality. Of course, you can save patches in the plugin and recall them anytime.
To get the plugin, you have to create an account. Once you do, you can download the plugin, and after installation, you have to log in to your user account inside the plugin.

Thanks for the notice!
Though we have several good options for Acid Bass on both desktop and iPadOS, always nice to have more. Especially when they’re free. And it’s cool that this one allows for MIDI export through drag-and-drop (presumably, the AUv3 version will export through some other means).
Just too bad that this one doesn’t allow for custom scales or any kind of “note histogram”. Arturia’s version, in both Acid V and Pigments, has those niceties.
In fact, it’d be useful to have more control on what’s randomized (slides, accents, note order…). Now, the “complexity” knob takes care of some of that, perhaps.
Oh, and actually… Having to physically press the “Generate” button after every change can make the playflow a little bit less fun, especially since that’s not an exposed parameter. (Otherwise, we could trigger that generator through automation, which would help in both performance and exploration.)
At any rate, grateful to get a gift before Black Friday Sales.
