Many reverbs, whether hardware or software, cover the classics: room, chamber, hall, plate, and others.
Developer Alejandro Ramirez (Ramalejo), aka Hot Shower Audio, takes a different approach, creating a free reverb plugin built around the space where we spend a shorter or longer time every day: bathrooms.

bathROOMs is a new free unique reverb plugin for macOS and Windows. According to Hot Shower Audio, bathROOMs is built from five different bathrooms.
The lovely user interface provides a glimpse into this, with each type featuring a graphical representation of the bathroom. And don’t miss the ducker, which is represented by a pink rubber duck wearing headphones.
You can select from five different bathrooms, each with its own size and tonal balance: Porcelain, Cove, Greenhouse, Lavender and Baldosa (a Colombian bathroom with hydraulic tile and an electric shower). They range from small and bright to large and dark.
Each model is fully adjustable with various controls: pre-delay, decay, position, surface, temp, wash, slap, and dry/wet.
As I already wrote, the bathROOMs plugin includes a built-in ducker hidden on a second UI page. It’s also fully tweakable, with controls for threshold, ratio, attack, and release, plus an optional sidechain input.
The latter pulls the reverb down while the source is playing, so a vocal stays intelligible without automating the send. bathROOMs also includes handy input and output levelers, so you can control your signals precisely at the beginning and the end of the signal chain.
Hot Shower Audio ships the plugin with 27 artists’ presets from five mix engineers and producers, organized by artist in the preset menu.

At first glance, a beautiful, flexible reverb plugin. One that is unique and offers different reverbs than the ever-recurring classics.
Hot Shower Audio bathROOMs is now available as a free download, with a pay-what-you-want option. It runs as a standalone and as VST3, AU, and AAX plugins on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Old bluesmen used to put their amps into bathrooms and record them in there because the reverb was so good in there.
