A reverb is a tool that allows you to quickly and effectively add space to any sounds. Every sound blossoms with a little reverb. Some sounds, like soundscapes, pads, etc., love a lot of reverb so much that they can float like clouds.
4Pockets has introduced Everspace, a new reverb that is specifically designed to make sounds rise in clouds and float.

EverSpace is a new algorithmic cloud reverb plugin for iOS and macOS. According to Paul of 4Pockets, EverSpace is designed for creating enormous spaces, evolving ambiances, and richly modulated echoes. Or, in other, simpler words, a cloud reverb.
The reverb is built upon Ghost Note Audio’s CloudSeed engine. Its architecture draws inspiration from the algorithmic studio reverbs of the 1980s, where networks of delays and diffusion created spaces that extended far beyond the limits of the physical world.
EverSpace doesn’t try to mimic a particular piece of hardware from the past or recreate a specific setting from one of them.
Instead, it focuses more on the creative possibilities of algorithmic reverbs. The engine consists of four main sections: taps, diffusion, late reflections, and equalization.
Taps is a multi-tap delay stage with stage selection and controls for decay and length. It also includes a pre-delay setting for early reflections. It adds rhythmic reflections, echoes, and additional complexity before the main reverb network.
One step further: the diffusion network, where you can shape the initial character of the space: density, delay, feedback, and modulation with amount and rate controls. You can also alter the behavior and character of the delay network with different interpolation modes.
Your Personal Cloud Reverb
In the middle, the late reflection section gives the effect its final depth. It is the crowning finale of a reverb and determines how short or long it fades out. You can customize this down to the last detail with controls for size, decay, delay, feedback, and two modulation stages.
The last block includes an EQ (equalization) with low- and high-frequency shaping plus filtering to sculpt the color and decay of the reverb.
Additionally, 4Pockets EverSpace lets you control the seed, which regenerates the internal delay and diffusion structures to produce different variations from the same settings.
In a dedicated pop-up menu, you can set the seed’s tap, delay, diffusion, and late diffusion. Shimmer isn’t built in, but you can find it in 4Pocket’s Shimmer reverb app.
EverSpace covers a wide range, from subtle to super-rich cloud reverbs. At more extreme settings, it transforms simple sounds into thick evolving pads, shimmering textures, and expansive ambient soundscapes.
A nice bonus is the real-time visualizer with a waveform and frequency displays that provide visual feedback.
First Impression
EverSpace lives up to its name, judging by the first demos. It’s a very rich, huge-sounding reverb generator that’s particularly well-suited for ambient sounds and endless soundscapes. The plugin also suits less epic tasks.
4Pockets EverSpace is now available at an introductory price of $9,99 instead of $12,99. The offer ends a couple of weeks after the initial release. It runs as a standalone and AUv3 plugin on iOS and macOS (native Apple Silicon).
