The Zero-G Other Worlds sample library has just gotten the Evolved treatment and is now a cinematic synth instrument for Kontakt 8.

Over the past few months, the British sample library provider Zero-G has transformed many older libraries into complete Kontakt instruments. These include, among others, Ian Boddy’s Morphology library or Nostalgia, packed with synth sounds.

The Evolved treatment has now received another library. Zero-G has released Other Worlds Evolved, a major upgrade for the Other Worlds library by sound designer Adam Pietruszko.

Zero-G Other Worlds Evolved

Designed for film, TV, game, trailer and ambient music production, Other Worlds Evolved delivers everything from evolving atmospheres and sci-fi textures to unsettling drones, cinematic transitions and experimental sound design.

Other Worlds Evolved is a new cinematic synth instrument for Kontakt 8 full version. The core idea behind these upgrades is to give existing libraries a new look and new possibilities.

Like the previous releases, Other Worlds Evolved transforms the original library into a powerful, performance-driven instrument powered by Zero-G’s new Orbita engine.

The library features all 500 original sound source recordings. Instead of just .wav files, they are now integrated into the Orbita engine and visualized in a newly scripted, fully featured GUI that invites you to create all-new sounds.

The Orbita engine features a hybrid construct, consisting of three sample layers and a powerful wavetable synth taken from the Kontakt 8 core.

Each sample layer gives you access to all 30o original Other Worlds samples, featuring evolving atmospheres, sci-fi textures, drones, cinematic transitions, and more.

Additionally, you can shape them with various controls, including pan, tune, built-in filtering, effects, sends, and modulation.

Alongside the three sample layers, it houses a wavetable engine that infuses a colder character into the sample-based content. 30 tweakable wavetables, morphing, filtering, an EQ, and a dedicated amp envelope give you plenty of options to create new sounds.

Then you have a flexible effects-routing engine with per-layer and global effects, and master processing. The global FX includes delay, reverb, reverse grain, chorus, flanger, distortion, and more.

The movement page features a four-layer XY morphing engine that lets you seamlessly blend among all four sound sources. Manual but also automated morphing is possible. More precisely, you have independent animation controls for vertical, horizontal, and orbital motion.

First Impression

It’s great that Zero-G is continuing this work and transforming more libraries into new instruments. Owners of these libraries can upgrade for a small fee and get a completely new instrument what is nice.

Zero-G Other Worlds Evolved is available now for an introductory price of $41,95 until August 6th, 2026 (reg. $59,95). Owners of the original Other Worlds library can get an upgrade price of just $19.95 using code OTHERUP at checkout.

It requires the full version of Kontakt 8.3 and will not work in the free Kontakt Player.
