Timo Rozendal Filler is a new module that injects variations and fills on the fly into your modular drum patterns.
Dutch developer Timo Rozendal exhibited at this year’s DIY Kit Day in Berlin right after Superbooth. He showcased his current portfolio, including the excellent Automator, as well as new modules. One of them is particularly interesting for modular drums.
Filler is the name of Timo Rozendal’s latest creation and is a module that makes your drum patterns more versatile

Filler is a new performance-optimized 14HP module that creates drum variations and fills on the fly. The module features six trigger inputs and seven trigger outputs: BD, SN, CH, OH, P1, P2, plus an automatic CY crash/accent output at the end of fills.
At the core of Timo Rozendal Filler is an engine that listens to up to six incoming drum triggers. Then, it learns the pattern and generates synced fills, variation mutes, Euclidean rhythms, and automatic transitions on demand.
Additionally, there is an always-on powerful drummer layer that can add ghost hits, humanization, probability, stutters, slicing, phase shifts, negative-space patterns, and Markov-based variations.
Three buttons (one clicky), three knobs, and a display allow you to quickly enrich drum patterns on the fly. With the dedicated fill button, you can trigger instantly fills. Press Fill, and Filler inserts a fill at the next bar boundary, then returns to the original rhythm.
Alternatively, you can trigger them bar-synced. Alongside the trigger ins and outs, the module also has a CV control over the fill parameter or drummer amount.
A CV output is also available, generating a fill-synced envelope for modulating filters, VCAs, effects, or other modules. That’s a nice bonus.
Filler ships with a built-in library of 333 curated fill patterns organized in 41 banks, including classic, rock, metal, jazz, country, rolls, and more.

Timo Rozendal Filler is available now for 250€ as an assembled module and for 160€ as a full DIY kit.
