Rob Jackson FinalFX is a new AUv3 multi-FX processor for iOS and macOS that gives your tracks the final touch.
Once you’ve finished producing your track on iOS, you want to give it the final touches. For this, you need mixing and mastering plugins. There are many available on the Apple App Store.
The Swedish company Positive Grid had a great all-in-one app with the right tools called Final Touch. However, it was discontinued in 2024. With the new FinalFX, developer Rob Jackson has released an AUv3 plugin that goes in that direction.

FinalFX is a new AUv3 multi-FX plugin for iOS and macOS that bundles audio processors useful for mixing and mastering. You can often find them on a channel strip.
They are designed to be used as final effects on a stereo master or mix bus channel, introducing no additional latency in the audio processing chain and requiring minimal CPU consumption.
Rob Jackson FinalFX features three main modules: EQ, MID/SIDE and a compressor/limiter combo. The EQ is a classic six-band EQ that also offers a mid/side processing mode.
The frequencies and resonance of each band are fixed, so the EQ is more about subtle overall tone shaping than surgical precision. You can use it to reduce bass or add presence. It is also possible to mix the EQ signal with the original dry signal.
In the middle, the MID/SIDE focuses on the stereo image with individual gain controls for the middle and sides. There is also an overall width control which can reduce a stereo signal down to mono.
On the right side, you have the compressor limiter combo. It’s a section that lets you adjust the dynamics and loudness of a signal. It consists of two compressors in series with variable threshold and ratios.
The first compressor offers a mix control while the second also includes a variable soft/hard clipper stage and overall output volume control. The limiter has controls for the input and ratio.
Settings can be saved in the app’s preset browser. Thanks to AUv3 support and the low CPU consumption, you can easily use it on multiple instances.
