M-VAVE has released the Elemental Pro and Galaxia, two new low-budget stereo multi-type delay and reverb pedals.
The Chinese manufacturer M-VAVE has shaken up the low-budget synth market in recent weeks with its small FM-1 Synthesizer, priced at $70. This was their first dedicated synth product. Some of you probably know the brand from their affordable MIDI gear and guitar pedals.
A popular pedal often seen in jams is the Elemental delay, and the Mini Universe reverb, which sounds very solid for its $30 price tag. M-VAVE now takes these pedals to the stereo level with the Elemental Pro and Galaxia. Of course, again at a super affordable price.
New Stereo Pedals
Elemental Pro and Galaxia are two new stereo pedals. As you can see from the pedals themselves, the M-VAVE Elemental Pro and Galaxia share the same platform. Same format, same number of knobs, and presumably the same internal DSP chip.
Both support mono and stereo operation via two mono 6.3mm inputs and outputs. Interestingly, the pedal can be powered either with a standard 9V adapter or via USB-C. The latter is also used for firmware updates.
According to the latest information, one of the recent firmware updates also adds MIDI support via USB-C to the pedals. There are also two footswitches. One turns the pedal ON/OFF, and the second provides a secondary function, such as tap or hold.
Apparently, there is also a MASH function that creates an infinite hold. Yes, the name MASH is used by TC Electronic.
M-VAVE Elemental Pro & Galaxia
The Elemental Pro is a stereo delay pedal with nine distinct algorithms selectable with a knob switch: analog, dual, duck, trem, reverse, dTape, ice, LoFi, and pattern.
Each algorithm features five parameters: time, feedback, dry/wet mix, and two algorithm-specific parameters (param and modulation).
Then, Galaxia is a stereo reverb pedal with nine colorful algorithms: room, hall, plate (EMT-140 inspired), spring (Fender-style), shimmer, cloud, bloom, swell, and Lo-fi. This should cover a wide range of classic and genre-specific reverbs.
Like the Elemental Pro, the M-VAVE Galaxia offers five parameters: decay, dry/wet mix, tone, lend, and mod.
With the right-hand MASH footswitch, you can hold the current reverb tail as long as you press, then it releases naturally on lift.
First Impression
In the past, I’ve often tested cheap FX pedals from China, as I find it interesting to see how they evolve over time. Super garbage, no, but they are not super high-end either. They offer great value for money.
So, don’t expect to get a Strymon or Eventide-level delay or reverb for $50 here. In the initial demos, the pedals sound very good and usable for the price.
