Arturia Rev OCEAN is a new ocean-inspired, feedback-delay network-based reverb plugin designed for instant atmospheres.
Delays and reverbs are often used to create dense atmospheres, often in combination. Depending on the typology and sonic characteristics, some delay/reverbs are better suited than others.
Arturia has just released Rev Ocean, a new reverb plugin specifically designed and optimized for atmospheres.

Rev Ocean is a new reverb plugin for macOS and Windows. Unlike previous Arturia plugins, the Rev Ocean appears very compact and is not overloaded with controls. Perhaps we will see more effects in this layout in the future.
Arturia Rev Ocean is based on a feedback-delay network reverberator engine supported by multi-stage diffusion, delivering long, smooth tails. They deliver stable reflections with constant movement and spatial depth, say the developers.
You can choose between three expressive modes (Abyss, Tide, and Foam), allowing you to reshape the reverb tail in different ways. Each mode has its own movement, diffusion behavior, and subaquatic-inspired modulation effects.
They give you results from reverse-pitch depth to phase-like spectral movement, offering a wide range of spaces to explore.
Rev Ocean offers easy-to-use controls to tweak your spaces in no time to achieve your desired result. Classic controls like size, decay, brightness filtering, or width let you customize the space in its core.
More specialized but clever features like ducking and transient not only keep your reverb deep but also clear and mix-ready. Besides this, you have an adjustable pre-delay function and a dry/wet mix control. A freeze that holds the reverb tail indefinitely is also onboard.
Arturia ships its latest reverb plugin with a curated set of presets that add immediate depth, motion, and texture to your sounds.
First Impression
At first glance, a nice new atmospheric reverb plugin from Arturia. I really like its compact size. Sonically, I don’t hear anything groundbreaking in the demos. You hear this from other reverbs before as well.
Nevertheless, it’s lovely and will, sooner or later, find its way into a new FX Collection.
