Superbooth 2026: Xaoc Devices Budapeszt & Skopje: stereo dual spectral processor and dual quantizer for Eurorack.
As every year, the Polish developers from Xaoc Devices will be at Superbooth. For the 2026 edition, they’ve brought news – specifically, two exciting new modules.
Ahead of Superbooth 2026, Xaoc Devices has announced the Budapeszt & Skopje modules, a more experimental-flavored stereo processor, and a super handy tool.
Xaoc Devices Budapeszt & Skopje
Two very different releases are coming this year from Xaoc Devices, but let’s start with the more experimental one, the Budapeszt. Yes, the names still come from cities. This time, one from Hungary.
Budapeszt is a stereo dual spectral processor built around the interference of resonant structures. At its core are two independently tunable comb-type filters with six distinct modes based on delay, phase, and filterbank approaches
Each filter has its own set of controls, with two separate triangle LFO’s providing internal modulation (with free and synced operation, and an envelope follower mode on top)
Xaoc Devices says that the real magic happens in the interference between the stereo filter through. The overlap of two resonant structures weaves a spectral lattice: a complex grid of peaks and voids.
The final geometry of that lattice is determined by the relationship between the channels rather than by either one in isolation.
To encourage experimentation and for even more sonic flexibility, multiple feedback paths are available, including cross-coupled feedback between the filters. There’s also a feedback-phase-inversion switch for each filter.
Anyone who has delved deeply into comb filtering knows how intensely and beautifully you can shape sounds with it. You can quickly move towards physical modeling qualities, flanging, chorus, and more. And all this with control over CV. That will be a lot of fun.
Xaoc Devices Skopje
The second new release is a very handy tool for every rack. It’s a 6HP dual quantizer with two independent channels that are super flexible thanks to the built-in high-precision A/D and D/A converters.
Each channel can quantize its input to a different scale from a different bank (up to 100 banks, each containing up to 100 scales). They can be selected using an OLED display without menu diving.
Skopje stores its data on a regular microSD card. The module supports its own very simple scale format (a straightforward TXT file you prepare on your computer), as well as any of the abundant SCALA files you throw at it.
You can mix and match different scale format files in one bank, also with different tuning systems and description formats. The new Xaoc Devices scale programming tools also introduce a few clever features like various voltage limiting settings and more.
As a bonus, you can calibrate any Xaoc Devices Skopje channel independently if you have a great VCO with v/oct tracking issues.
Other notable features include: glide, scale switching via triggers or CV (great as a performance/compositional tool with your own scales/note combinations), and transposition (including unquantized for vibrato).
First Impression
Two exciting modules from Xaoc Devices. The stereo dual-spectral processor looks like a sound design beast. I’m very curious to hear it in action.
Xaoc Devices Budapeszt and Skopje will be on display at Superbooth 2026 booth W355. Skorpje will be available in June 2026. Price and availability TBA.
