Superbooth 2026: Vostok Instruments Halo is a new quad LFO with full CV control and a built-in logic section, capable of generating up to 16 simultaneous signals.
Let’s stay in Spain. Barcelona is not only home to Befaco but also to Vostok Instruments, which were also at Superbooth 2026 in Berlin.
Last week at Superbooth, Vostok Instruments unveiled the Halo, a quad LFO module with a special twist.
Vostok Instruments Halo
Halo is a new compact 10HP quad LFO module for Eurorack. According to Vostok Instruments, Halo is designed to provide a large amount of modulation in just 10HP. More precisely, it can generate up to 16 simultaneous signals covering a wide range.
Sixteen signals simultaneously is a lot for a quad LFO. However, this makes Halo’s unique design possible. The module consists of two sections: the quad LFO and a logic section.
Each of the four LFO channels is built on a CV-controlled analog core and offers two selectable frequency ranges: low and high, finely tuned to cover most applications, says Vostok Instruments.
This means you can use it not just as an LFO but also as an HFO, so an oscillator. Each channel offers triangle and square waveforms with dedicated outputs and has manual and CV control over the frequency.
Since the four LFOs have their own outputs and controls without switching or menus, they are very hands-on to operate, just as you would expect from an analog module.
The Logic Twist
Unlike traditional quad LFOs, Vostok Instruments Halo offers a dedicated Logic section that creates new waveforms from each channel pair using analog boolean circuits and channel mixing.
This section gives you an addition of eight modulation outputs with AND, OR, XOR, and MIX operations for each pair of channels.
The Quad LFO section’s waveforms are pretty basic: triangle and square. There are no longer basic if you incorporate the logic section. By using them, the LFOs will flourish and evolve into complex modulators.
First Impression
A new classic quad LFO certainly wouldn’t cause a sensation. However, this new one from Vostok Instruments, with its Logic add-on, sparks more interest, as this section allows for significantly more complex results.
CV control across all LFOs is also a very welcome feature, and with only 10HP, it’s also space-saving.
Vostok Instruments Halo is available now for $229/199€.
