Sinevibes Droplet v2 brings the lovely raindrop delay effects plugins to more Korg SDK synthesizers, including the microKORG 2.
Korg’s SDK-based synthesizers, such as the minilogue xd and NTS-1, are very popular. With the move to the NTS-1 mk2 and later the NTS-3, Korg also released a new SDK. This is due to the improved hardware, which provides more resources to run more complex algorithms.
For developers, this means that existing Korg plugins must be updated to offer them to these users. Sinevibes is currently doing this, and his lovely Droplet v2 raindrop delay is now also ready for the new generation.
Sinevibes Droplet v2 Korg Plugin
Droplet v2 is a free update for existing users. If you purchased the Korg plugin some time ago for the first generation, you can now use it on new Korg hardware, such as the NTS-1 mk2 and NTS-3, at no extra cost.
Sinevibes Droplet v2 is a unique raindrop delay effect that is based on multiple delay lines connected in series via a proportional feedback system.
The “raindrop” effect is created by randomizing each delay’s time parameter to recreate a naturally chaotic sound. But the plugin can do more than just water dropping delays.
It can go from early reflections to dense, full-bodied reverbs with super-long tail duration. There is also built-in modulation that adds a unison-like dimension to the sound.
Alongside the new compatibility with more Korg hardware, Droplet v2 also benefits from a rebuilt engine, providing a more pleasing sound with subtler modulation, improved parameter calibration, and slightly increased efficiency.
Users of KORG’s second-generation hardware products also benefit from two additional parameters: randomized stereo width and time modulation depth.
First Impression
There are countless classic delays available. The Raindrop delay has its own unique character. I’m very pleased that the plugin can now also be used on newer Korg synthesizers.
The Sinevibes Droplet v2 Korg plugin is available now for $19 and is a free upgrade for those who purchased the previous version. The following KORG hardware is supported: prologue, minilogue xd, NTS-1, NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3, and microKORG 2.
