Superbooth 2026: Expert Sleepers NTX-8CV is a new multi-purpose interface module for audio and CV duties, and Forever, an audio freezer module
Superbooth 2026 starts in a few days and will draw many people to the developers’ booths. Eurorack will be a big topic, as it is every year. British developer Andrew Ostler is also present this year and will showcase two new modules in Berlin.
Ahead of SB 2026, Expert Sleepers has announced the NTX-8CV multi-purpose module and the Forever audio freezer module.
Expert Sleepers NTX-8CV and Forever
Two modules: the NTX-8CV and Forever. Let’s start with the Expert Sleepers NTX-8CV, a module that fits very well with the portfolio Andrew Ostler has built so far.
Expert Sleepers NTX-8CV is a 4HP module with three distinct purposes: it’s a MIDI-to-CV converter, a USB audio/CV interface, and a disting NT expander.
First, it works as a USB-C MIDI-to-CV converter based on the FH-2’s core, but in a more compact form factor.
The USB-C port serves dual roles: it allows you to use it as a USB-MIDI class-compliant device (computer or tablet), and as a USB host in your rack, where you can connect a controller.
Secondly, it’s also a USB-C audio/CV interface. In this configuration, it operates as a USB audio class-compliant device, offering 8 channels of DC-coupled audio or CV outputs. Yes, it allows you to work with CV Tools, Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, and your modular system.
Not enough, there’s a third one. The new NTX-8CV is also an output expander for the mighty disting NT, adding 8 CV outputs to it. Additionally, it can be daisy-chained to provide up to 64 additional CV outputs (on top of the NT’s 8). Import side note: it has a 36mm module depth.
Forever
Forever is not related to the catchy tune Forever Young by Alphaville, but is an audio FX processor. It’s an audio freezer/infinite sustain effect based on the Temporal Freeze algorithm on the disting NT.
The module features three independent freeze voices, each with its own gate input and toggle switch. This can be triggered manually or by CVs from other modules.
Each voice can also be overdubbed, layering up new source material into the frozen audio, and played back an octave down, adding weight and richness to the sound.
With Forever, you can create big soundscapes in your modular system. This, combined with the new Befaco IROI module, could be a dream team for soundscapes.
Firmware updates, module configuration, and MIDI control are available via the front panel USB-C port.
