Superbooth 2026: BLEASS Spectral Resonator is a new resonator FX plugin that turns incoming frequencies into shimmering banks of up to 256 harmonics per voice.

Superbooth is a trade fair dominated by hardware products. Large, small, modular – everything imaginable in terms of hardware. Occasionally, however, developers sneak software into the fair. This was also the case with a French company.

BLASS unveiled the new Spectral Resonator FX plugin at Superbooth 2026.

BLEASS Spectral Resonator

Spectral Resonator is a new, colorful FX processor for macOS, Windows, and iOS. In a first step, BLEASS Spectral Resonator converts your signal into the spectral domain, where it applies a range of creative effects.

That’s why you can find the word “Spectral” in the plugin name. Once done, it allows you to mangle the signals in the spectral domain with advanced harmonic shaping tools, including stretch, shift, density, blur, unison, and more.

They are color-coded, making it easy to experiment with them. This means you can use a portion of it, for example, as an extra layer of pitch and timbre, or apply it completely to transform it into a complex texture.

An internal generator with four tunable voices is the core of the resonator, and its frequencies are determined by these voices.

Alternatively, these pitches can be derived from incoming MIDI notes. In this case, the Spectral Resonator acts like an 8-voice polyphonic synth with glide and pitch bend.

The plugin then generates up to 256 harmonics/partials from each of those base resonators, with each harmonic contributing its own overtone resonances to the overall effect.

Easy To Use

There is also a creative freeze button, which holds the resonators in their current state and a kill button that immediately stops any hanging resonances.

BLEASS has designed a very clear and easy-to-use interface for the plugin, where everyone will feel right at home. Even though spectral resonator isn’t a standard but rather an experimental FX, the plugin encourages exploration.

Further, it has color colded controls and an interactive 3D rainbow spectrogram surrounded by parameter that gives you instant visual feedback.

At first listen, BLEASS Spectral Resonator sounds more like a vocoder, but it is much more than that. It can deliver everything from subtle enhancement to deep modifications, opening the gate for otherwordly, animated soundscapes.

It’s as if the frequencies are sprinkled with magic powder, causing them to dance.

First Impression

Resonators and what you can do with them are, in my opinion, still somewhat underutilized. This might be because many plugins design too many features or UIs that aren’t very inviting. BLEASS has done a lot right here, in my opinion.

Less is more in terms of features, but what is there is very versatile, musical, and easy to use. Anyone who wants to work with resonators can dive into resonating adventures with these plugins without getting lost.

BLEASS Spectral Resonator is available now for an introductory price of 59€ instead of 79€. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, CLAP, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows. The iOS version with the AUv3 plugin is out now for $14,99.
