All The Machines Wreck, Strange and Drift are three new, distinct AUv3 distortion plugins for iOS (iPhone/iPad).

Developer Stephan Bolch released SKIID, a wild percussive drum synthesizer for iOS, a few years ago. Now the developer is back with three new wild FX apps.

All The Machines has released three AUv3 distortion FX plugins: WRECK, STRANGE, and DRIFT. Don’t worry, there aren’t any classics. Each has a different and unique concept.

Wreck, Strange, and Drift by All The Machines are three new AUv3 distortion plugins for iOS (iPhone/iPad). Each of them uses a specific concept.

WRECK chains five distinct destruction stages into a single plugin: drive, bit-crush, ring mod, wavefolder, and wavecycle shaper. Each stage has independent controls across two pages, allowing you to instantly experiment.

The developer says that you can achieve subtle grit to complete signal annihilation.

Strange is an experimental distortion that uses Lorenz and Logistic chaos attractors. These are the same mathematical systems used to model weather patterns and population dynamics. In this case, they are used to reshape audio.

The distortion character is driven by deterministic chaos, not a static waveshaper curve. You can choose between five distinct types: wavefolding (fold), shatte, warp, and glitch.

Each algorithm is fully adjustable with six slider controls: drive, chaos, feedback, tone, mix, and output. In the Strange FX, as the name suggests, you can immerse yourself in more unusual, crazy, filthy distortions.

Alongside Wreck and Strange, All The Machines also released Drift, another distortion AUv3 plugin. It’s a unique distortion that uses a saturation curve that slowly wanders over time.

Every pass through the plugin is slightly different — the distortion evolves, giving recordings a quality that static processing can’t replicate.

It’s not a random noise but a slow, organic drift that you can add here to your tones. It’s like a moving distortion. Also onboard is a built-in delay with feedback. Drift is a bit more comprehensive, offering 10 slider controls.

First Impression

Three exciting, very different, and unique distortion AUv3 FX plugins. It’s a shame there’s no macOS AUv3 version available in the package.

All The Machines Wreck, Strange and Drift are available now between $1,99 and $3,99. All three apps are available in a bundle for $5,99. It runs as a standalone and AUv3 plugin for iOS (iPhone/iPad).
