Superbooth 2026: Union Audio Area.6 is a new 6-channel CV-controllable performance mixer for Eurorack systems with built-in compression.

With the 60HP synths, Moog sparked a trend in analog synthesizers a few years ago. Many synthesizers from Behringer and other companies followed in the same format. Many musicians use many such synthesizers in their studio.

But how do you mix them together perfectly? With a classic mixer or multiple Eurorack mixers. At Superbooth 2026, British high-end mixer manufacturer Unison Audio is launching Area.6, a performance mixer designed for Eurorack synths.

Union Audio Area.6

The Area.6 is a new 6-channel performance mixer with CV control that can be used standalone or in Eurorack. According to Union Audio, Area 6 is designed by Andy Rigby Jones.

It features six stereo input channels, each with a dedicated level control, a tilt EQ for quick tone shaping, and an assignable AUX control. The channel can be switched to mono or stereo using a button.

The CV controls on the left side for each channel’s level, pan, and AUX send are exciting, allowing you to fully integrate them into your modular workflow.

Then, the mixer features a filter bus with resonant highpass and lowpass filters and adjustable overdrive. Yes, the filter is also fully CV-controllable. This is not applied to the entire mix, but you can route them separately to it. Plus, an AUX send is also onboard.

Another neat addition is the built-in, fully tweakable compressor with controls for ratio, threshold, and gain, allowing you to dial in perfect compression for your tracks. This has a CV output and an input for an external sidechain signal.

In the master section, you have a mix output as well as a separately adjustable headphone output. Further, each of the two AUX sends has its own stereo turn, plus there is a master insert.

Looking at the back of the mixer, you’ll see 12 circuit cards, indicating a very sophisticated design.

First Impression

This looks like a very exciting Eurorack mixer. The extensive CV control is particularly welcome. However, at around 1200€, it won’t appeal to everyone.

Union Audio AREA.6 will be available in July 2026, with pricing TBA. According to the developer, it will be around 1200€.
