KV331 Audio SynthMaster 3 Player and Free are new stripped-down SynthMaster 3 Synthesizer plugin versions for macOS and Windows + now in public beta.
In September 2025, KV331 Audio released the Synthmaster 3 Player Synthesizer. It was available in both paid and free versions.
Synthmaster 3 for iOS is currently in development. This will take some time. To bridge the gap, there’s something else to play around with. KV331 Audio has released Synthmaster 3 Player for iOS (iPhone and iPad) with AUv3 support.
It’s a free download and gives you the same functionality as the desktop (VST) version. Out of the box, you get 200 free presets to play around with. Registering unlocks an additional 300 presets, bringing the total to 500 ready-to-use sounds.
Since each preset is largely based on synthesis, Synthmaster 3 Player is not a ROMpler. The pre-mapped macros also let you adjust sounds on the fly, giving you access to a much wider range.
If you need more sounds, you can always purchase new preset banks or a complete bundle. Existing Synthmaster 3 users can also access their sounds.
It’s great to see that the Player version is now available for iOS as well. I’m really looking forward to Synthmaster 3 for iOS later this year.
KV331 Audio SynthMaster 3 Player for iOS is available as a free download from the Apple App Store. It runs as a standalone app and an AUv3 plugin. To celebrate this release, they launched an in-app sound sale offering 20% OFF.

As of September 2, 2024, the KV331 Audio SynthMaster version 3 has been available, featuring many new additions, including a wavetable editor, granular oscillator, and more.
One year after this release, the popular KV331 Audio Synthmaster 3 Player version is now available. A free version is also available. Both versions are now in public beta and ready for testing.
KV331 Audio SynthMaster 3 Player
SynthMaster 3 Player is a stripped-down version of its flagship Synthesizer plugin, SynthMaster, for macOS and Windows. The full version of SynthMaster 3 is packed with features, offering multiple layers and tons of modulations. All this fun is not available here.
KV331 Audio SynthMaster 3 Player doesn’t give you access to the layer modules and modulation source.
Still, all other parts, like the layer voice, zone, FX, arpeggiator, and sequencer, are all editable in the Player version. You can see this in the added picture.
The first picture shows you the editable mixer section with the tweakable effects, while the second gives you an overview of the editable arpeggiator and sequencer parts.
Each layer has its own MIDI output channel so that users can route the MIDI generated by the Arpeggiator / Sequencer to different tracks in their DAW:
SynthMaster 3 Player ships with all SynthMaster One, SynthMaster 2, and SynthMaster 3 factory presets, giving you a total of 4400 sounds so far. It can also load the presets from these synths.
There are currently 58 expansion banks for a wide range of genres to choose from. Users can easily preview the presets in those banks and purchase them through the In-App Shop inside the plugin user interface.
Free Version
Like the previous SynthMaster 2 Player, there is also a SynthMaster 3 Player Free version that ships with 500 factory presets. The features of the free version are identical to the full version, except that the number of sounds differs.
First Impression
I’m glad to see that there’s now a player version of the excellent SynthMaster 3 Synthesizer. Perfect for exploring the sounds without diving too deep.
KV331 Audio SynthMaster 3 Player is available now at an introductory price of $29, down from $49. Various upgrades are also available.
You can upgrade at any time from the Player version to the full version of SynthMaster 3 for a discounted price. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
