Superbooth 2026: Knobula Drum Farm is a powerful drum voice that merges synthesis and sampling into a new module.

Is there a perfect way to design drum sounds? If you ask me, no. You can generate drum sounds from synthesis, samples, or even a mix.

With the new Knobula Drum Farm module for Superbooth 2026, you don’t have to ask this question. It simply offers both.

Knobula Drum Farm

Knobula Drum Farm

Drum Farm is a new 24HP performance-focused drum voice powerhouse module for Eurorack. Knobula Drum Farm can be seen as a drum sound sculpting hub with countless possibilities for designing drum sounds from scratch.

At its core are up to 4 drum voices (3 main, with the preview function, 4), featuring synthesis, sampling, and effects. On the synthesis side, you have 16 drum models made from virtual analog, physical modeling, and spectral techniques.

The drum models offer controls over the decay and pitch, plus two model-specific controls (X/Y). It delivers a wide palette of percussion with subtle variation on every trigger. These synthesis-based models can be triggered with the dedicated drum synth trigger input.

Unlike traditional voices, the primary focus here isn’t on triggering individual drum synths. Instead, it’s on the performative way of drum sculpting. The drum synth is simply one component of this process.

Sample Everything

A key feature is the digital sampler, which supports up to three playback voices (two main + preview), capturing everything you create and letting you build layered, evolving sounds or assemble custom kits on the fly.

That means you can either trigger the tweaked drum synth sound or combine it with samples to create a hybrid sound. The Knobula Drum Farm’s sampler can run automatically in the background, sampling into one of 16 sequential audio buffers.

Ultimately, users can capture the drum Synthesizer on its own or record hybrid combinations of synthesis, effects, and samples, which can themselves be resampled into richly layered percussion structures or loops.

Additionally, Drum Farm offers an external input that lets you sample any external sound, such as field recordings, into the module. Each sample player voice offers independent mute, decay envelope, pitch, and accent controls, plus main and AUX routing options.

Yes, there is also a multi-FX section with 16 real-time processors, where you can use up to 3 simultaneously. A microSD slot lets you store up to 32 banks of sessions, including all samples and settings.

All parameters are CV- and trigger-assignable, enabling fully generative patches or tight performance control. This includes switching samples, drum algorithms, or the effects types on the fly.

On the connection side, you have five trigger inputs, an external input, four CV inputs, and main and AUX audio outputs.

First Impression

A very intriguing drum voice module for Eurorack that features a concept unlike those of previous drum voices. It reminds me of the Vermona DrumThing concept, where you can sample the synthesis part and then use it.

The module also appears to be very well thought out, with no display or deep menu diving.

Knobula Drum Farm will be available in June 2026 for £449 GBP (incl. VAT), in blue/black or black. You can check out the module at Superbooth 2026.

  1. I don’t know how unique it is, as it seems very comparable to VPME.DE’s QD, but it looks like Drum Farm has a sampler rather than just a sample player. I’m curious how well it can handle dynamics and accents for mulple voices – something I find lacking in many Eurorack drum engines. I sold my QD because I decided it was the wrong approach to percussion in Eurorack for me. But this might add another good option for a versatile all-arounder multi-drum voice in Eurorack.

  2. in the pov of only using knobula voices, this makes sense. seems great for small setups. if I had one in my rack I’d hook it up to my dfam – always fun turning dfam into a dynamic sequenced controller for other voices, and this one seems like it’s begging for it.
