At the Chicago Electronic Music Conference, Erica Synths unveiled the Bullfrog Mix, a new 6-channel performance mixer with built-in FX.
The Latvian company Erica Synths places great emphasis on education. In addition to their EDU DIY Eurorack modules with Moritz Klein, the company also has the Bullfrog series in its portfolio.
The first product is the Bullfrog Synthesizer, developed in collaboration with music producer and DJ Richie Hawtin. At Superbooth 2024, they also showed the Bullfrog Drums, a drum machine, which, according to Girts Ozolins, will be released soon. A third product, the Bullfrog Mix, is already in the pipeline.

Bullfrog Mix
Last weekend, the Chicago Electronic Music Conference took place with Girts Ozolins from Erica Synths as a guest. He unveiled the latest member of the Bullfrog family, the Bullfrog Mix. The guys behind the conference kindly sent over the details.
It’s a new 6-channel performance mixer with two mono channels, two stereo channels, an EQ, and FX sends per channel, plus a master filter. On top of that, it has a dual FX processor unit that features the same DSP as their pedals.
Details regarding the integrated effects and other specifications are currently unavailable.
However, the shared image shows that the Bullfrog Mix seamlessly integrates into the design of other Bullfrog instruments. It’s also white and has big, colorful knobs. There is also a big level knob per channel, including a mute button, FX send, and more.
The cables connect at the back. There are also two headphone jacks on the front, which is very convenient. This is especially useful if two people are using the Bullfrogs like one the synth and the other the drum machine, so they can monitor both the mix and make adjustments.
Like the other products in the series, the Erica Synths Bullfrog Mix is aimed at the educational sector and, with this focus, is difficult to compare to classic mixers, which probably offer more features.
Erica Synths Bullfrog Mix availability and price TBA. All details will follow soon, stay tuned.

I need the XXL version with more stereo inputs.
Come on! the 6 channels should be all Stereo.
They’ve squandered a clear opportunity here yet again, and at this point calling Erica Synths a boutique manufacturer is simply dishonest. They operate with the advantages of scale, yet continue to extract boutique level pricing from a loyal customer base while delivering increasingly mid tier products.
The pricing bears no honest relationship to the feature set, to the point that the entire value proposition feels disingenuous. This is not exclusivity or craftsmanship, it is a widening disconnect between price and substance.
You know more about the price than all others here, including me. There is no price available.
Erica Synths wasn’t a “boutique” company but at super beginning where they were 3-4 people. Usually boutique brands are 1-2 guys operating a company like you can see a lot at Synth Fest France. For example Fred’s Lab.
Erica Synths is around 10-15 people working there so more than a boutique brand.
They big benefit compared to other brands and that why they can produce so is that they have a factory right before their door in Latvia. When a product is ready, they go to the factory and they produce it at a larger scale. They don’t need to send prototypes to China, go backwards and forwards, etc.
The price is coming, seems to be that I’m a slightly better connected than you may be Tom. And I’m very familiar with their “humble” beginnings and the benefits they have enjoyed in manufacturing! That is the point. And we needn’t squabble about whether 1,2, or 5 individuals determine boutique status. Their pricing did that for them, for far too long. Tom, are we actually getting on?
whats the price that you have Heard? i am wondering why it’s a secret
The cost of a product and pricing can be affected by many factors, since you’re not working at Erica accounting department, factors you can only guess. No matter how connected or humble you are.
i don’t buy Mixers from small companies.
Not enough Channels all the time…
Still more expensive then even a mackie with more Channels.
even Korg Made the mistake with the Korg Mixer.
why 3 Channels?
with 4 it would much more useful for the Most people.
I dont care about the price. design is awesome, but COME ON the specs are really poor for anyone that works with DAWs. Honestly I can find better mixer specs on a budget behringer.
this will be not a DAW mixer but one for DAWless setups
We’re finally starting to see very compact mixers with dedicated features for performing with synthesizers. It’s like a dream come true!
Intellijel Jellymix, OTO Bebe, Cre8audio Assembler, 1010 Bluebox, and now this.
It’s a small market. A company can charge whatever they believe is fair. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. I’m so happy to have all these options and to see that this need is being recognized by manufacturers.
From the picture, it looks like a 8-channel mixer: 4 mono channels and 2 stereo channels, each with EQ and FX send. It also seems you can connect both 3.5mm and 1/4″ plugs to the inputs. The dual effect unit is a good idea, and having two headphone outputs on such a small mixer is unique and practical.
