Sinevibes has ported its Korg plugin Cache, with all its beautiful, wild buffer-based effects, to the desktop, making them fully MIDI controllable.
Last December (2024), Sinevibes released Cache, a Korg plugin packed with buffer-based, wild effects that can take any signal on the wildest roller coaster ride ever.
Like many other Korg plugins, Cache has now made it to the desktop. Even better, it’s now fully MIDI-controllable.
Sinevibes Cache Plugin
Cache is a new MIDI-controlled real-time audio manipulator for macOS, Linux, and Windows.
Like the Korg SDK plugin, Sinevibes Cache features a sound engine that constantly records all incoming audio and processes it live through multiple effects. However, these are not ordinary effects like delay or reverb.
It uses 12 buffer-based algorithms, including loop, repeat, ping-pong, robotize, stretch, stop, reverse, rewind, scratch, bend, roll up, and roll down. Yes, these are perfect for massively mixing, chopping, and bending your audio material in real time.
The exciting part, however, is MIDI. It’s rare to find MIDI as the most fascinating thing in an effects unit, but that’s the case here. In the Cache plugin, you combine up to 12 different effects and trigger them via MIDI key zones with sample-level precision.
For example, pressing the C3 key can instantly trigger a loop or repeat effect. This lets you spice up any loop or note sequence in seconds.
It’s perfect for making loops more enjoyable or simply remixing without delving too deeply into reconstructing existing loops. The plugin basically reconstructs the loop for you.
Furthermore, it’s not just an exclusive studio tool for audio manipulation; it can be used just as well in live performance. Sinevibes promises that the lightning-fast workflow and meticulously tuned algorithms make this possible.
The processor also features high-quality spline interpolation, fade envelopes, and two-pole gate switches for completely smooth operation. Alongside this, it also has an easy-to-use preset browser with various factory presets.
First Impression
A super fun plugin that you can spend a lot of time with. Highly recommended if you want to infuse in your tracks or loops enjoyable complexity and unpredictability. I would also like to have this in my iOS live setup.
Sinevibes Cache is available now for $49. Returning customers get a 20% OFF loyalty discount, and existing Korg Cache users will get a special upgrade price. Check your emails for these offers.
It runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel), Linux, and Windows.
