Expressive E Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite is a new collection of 100 specially designed MPE presets for the AAS Lounge Lizard EP-5 plugin.

The Osmose is an innovative multi-engine MPE Synthesizer and MIDI controller. Its unique keybed allows for polyphonic aftertouch and three-dimensional gestures, enabling expressive playing that was never possible with any regular keyboard.

With their Expressive Suite series, the developers offer specially tailored MPE presets for software synths that work perfectly with the Osmose as well as other expressive controllers. The latest addition is a library for a physical modeling electric piano plugin from a Canadian company. Expressive E has released the Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite.

Expressive E Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite

Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite is a new collection of 100 MPE presets for the AAS Lounge Lizard EP-5. As a reminder, it’s a physical-modeling electric piano from Applied Acoustics Systems, based on the dual tine-and-reed engine.

It explores the full expressive range of classic 9’70s electric pianos, from silky, crystal-clear tine tones to bold, organic reed textures.

Crafted entirely in-house by Expressive E’s MPE sound design team, each preset responds to the finest nuances of velocity, bend-per-note, and aftertouch, bringing unprecedented warmth and musicality to every note.

The new library has been fully optimized for Osmose, whose three-dimensional keybed captures the subtlest gestures of a player’s touch.

Of course, it also works seamlessly with any other MPE-compatible controller, including Linnstrument, Ableton Push 3, ROLI Seaboard, and more.

First Impression

It’s a clever idea by the developers to bring such libraries to market. This puts the Osmose more in the spotlight as a MIDI controller and also gives more scope to the MPE standard.

Expressive E Lounge Lizard Expressive Suite is available now for an introductory price of $19,99/19,99 instead of $29,99/29,99€. Get both AAS Lounge Lizard EP-5 and Electric Expression sound back for $99,50/99,50€ instead of $199/199€.

These deals are valid until November 19th, 2025.

  1. I’d like to hear more of these presets. Lounge Lizard is awesome, but I’m more excited for MPE to come to Chromaphone soon.

  2. Would like to hear more of the presets also.
Everybody has tons of nice Rhodes libraries and plugins, so to make the jump to AAS (I yet remain to be convinced about physical modelling of Rhodes… but my last experience of it was 20 years old AAS and the current Arturia EPs which were meeh)

However, putting stuff together with the Osmose as a controller could indeed be very interesting, so I’m not ruling it out either

    • Lounge Lizard is really nice, and there are ways you can get in pretty cheaply. They do a humble bundle every now and then that can get you the lite version and then the upgrade price isn’t bad at all. This new EP-5 version is great. I just wonder why the Osmose pack video only has like two sounds lol.

AAS has released a few preset packs for it that really take the electric piano sound engine in unique, experimental ways. I’m so glad they’re upgrading to MPE.
