Superbooth 23: Tiptop Audio introduced Eurorack versions of the Buchla 296t programmable spectral processor and 207t mixer/preamplifier.

Good news from Tiptop Audio and Buchla. Probably the most exciting module from the new Buchla Eurorack series the 296t programmable spectral processor is available now for pre-order. The price is $699 or 769€. Thomann says, the first batch arrives in 2-3 weeks.

At the Superbooth 2021, Gur Milstein from TipTop Audio announced a major collaboration with Buchla. This consists of the recreation of the iconic Buchla 200 module series, in Eurorack and at a reasonable price.

In the last two years the developers have been working to bring more and more modules to the market. At Superbooth 23, they probably showed the largest and most exciting module from this series, the 296t programmable spectral processor.

Tiptop Audio Buchla 296t

The first new Tiptop Audio Buchla is the recreation of the mighty Buchla 296t programmable spectral processor. It’s a 16-channel bandpass filter with built-in analysis and synthesis capability. Each frequency band has its own VCA input and envelope follower output, allowing for rather intricate transformations.

Buchla 296t can be split into two 8-band filters, with vocoder options. If there is also the cascading option of the original is not known. The module is powerful and versatile. It can be used for different tasks.

You can use it as a real-time powerful performance filter with 16 independent filters, each controllable with CV. Or as a programmable compound equalizer, or even as a spectrum-transferring vocoder. These are just a few of the ways the 296t can deploy. You can also use it as a shaper etc. A beautiful module.

Tiptop Audio Buchla 207t

The 207t is a stereo mixer/preamplifier with six channels with voltage-controlled panning. There is a single-channel preamplifier with independence and gain switches for a variety of input levels. It also includes per channel program and monitor switches, and monitor output.

And according to Gur Milstein, the founder of Tiptop Audio, the new Buchla 292t Quad Lopass Gate module is available now. But only in the US. Due to the vactrol ban in the EU/UK, the module is not yet available everywhere. The adapted version will come soon though.
